Winter is here and so are spoilers...
The eighth and final season of the fantasy series Game of Thrones, the emblematic product of HBO, will shoot multiple endings to avoid possible leaks like the one that has suffered in the seventh season. Casey Bloys, president of channel programming, said recently that the goal is to prevent the true outcome from being filtered and see the light ahead of time.
"The intention is that no one really knows how it ends," Bloys said during a speech at Moravian University in Pennsylvania.
"You have to do it in a long series. When you roll, people know it. So with several outcomes, the final answer will remain until the end, "he added.
That same strategy of shooting different outcomes was followed by other series such as Breaking Bad, The Sopranos or even Dallas in the 1980s. That way, even actors do not know for sure what the end will prevail.
The shooting of the eighth season of Game of Thrones will begin in October and could be extended until August 2018, which would mean that the premiere would be delayed until 2019.
"Our production team is looking at the shooting dates and how much time the visual effects will require," Bloys said.
Game of Thrones, based on the novels of George R.R. Martin, closed his seventh season at the end of August with a new record with 16.5 million viewers in the United States.
